Exhibition Concept "12m Picture Scroll"
We exhibited a project of hospitals planned in the Republic of Benin, West Africa.
Japanese picture scrolls invite the viewer to another world far away.
The Republic of Benin, the land of West Africa, is a different world far from Japan, and I thought that I would like the viewers to look into the other world like a picture scroll by arranging cardboard linearly.
Fifteen 40 cm square cardboard boxes were lined up in two rows for a total length of 6 m, and A3 panels was connected on top of them to make them look like a picture scroll.
The picture scroll folds back in the middle like a marathon to form a wandering line.
